THE ORIGINAL DISCOVERY OF SUGILITE IN THE WESSELS MINE
BACK IN 1979 TO 1980 PRODUCED ABOUT 24,000 POUNDS OF SUGILITE
OF THAT AMOUNT ABOUT 12,000 POUNDS WAS SUITABLE FOR USE AS GEM MATERIAL--
THE MATERIAL WITH "GRAPE" COLOR, BUT ONLY ONE TENTH OF ONE PERCENT
(ABOUT 12 POUNDS) WAS TRANSLUCENT TO SEMI-TRANSLUCENT
AND THIS MATERIAL MAKES UP ALL OF WHAT WAS MARKETED AS "TOP GEM MATERIAL".

These cabochons are
handcut by myself out of material I
acquired at the beginning of the
century
while great sugilite was
still coming out of the Wessels Mine
in South Africa. I guess some is
still being found.
The price for high
quality rough runs about $5000.00 per
pound, if one can find it.
Sugilite cutting rough is now selling by
the carat for small pieces.
I believe
I have some of the best Sugilite
around. When it's gone, that's
it.
Every cabochon is investment
grade.
Properties of
Sugilite
Sugilite assists in connecting the
spiritual to the physical. It
stimulates the crown chakra and
aids in opens all the chakras and
allows for the movement of
Kundalini energy. It enhances
belief in self, eliminating
hostility, anger and other
negativity, and provides loving
comfort from the Universe. It aids
in understanding of the spiritual
reasons for the lessons we

selves. It is a wonderful stone for
